Exponential Advances at Horizon
What a great season we are in at Horizon Community Church. We have two new locations becoming Horizon campuses starting this Sunday, February 22, a Sherwood location and a Spanish speaking location, Esperanza of Horizon, in Tualatin. The multi-site era for Horizon Community Church has begun. This ministry strategy increases our impact for Jesus both here and around the world exponentially. We are now one church in many locations.
We also took what we call our Kingdom Builders pledges last Sunday. Kingdom Builders is giving to the mission of God both locally and globally. We were hoping and praying for $1,000,000 to do the following: build a house for Remember Nhu in Cambodia to rescue young girls from sex-trafficking, build a church and support a pastor for a year in Africa, help build a warehouse for Embrace Compassion to serve the poor in Ethiopia, support the Palau Festival in New York City and many more things including preparation and improvements to our two new Horizon Community Church locations.
I have great news for you, as of now, the gifts and pledges for Kingdom Builders 2015 total $964,000, meaning we are close to our goal of $1 million to build the Kingdom of God both here and across the earth. If past years are an accurate indicator, the remaining Kingdom Builders pledges and Remember Nhu offerings that trail in in the next few Sundays should put us very close to reaching that goal. What this means, of course, is more of the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ being shared in a greater way both locally and globally.
I don’t know if I have ever been more excited to be the pastor at Horizon. Join me in praying for all of these new endeavors and pray that God will help us reach that goal to do even more for Him. After all, in Luke 11:2, Jesus asked us to pray, “Thy kingdom come thy will be done…in earth,” and the bible also says, “faith…if it does not have works, is dead” (James 2:17). So we are praying and working to see Jesus lifted up and glorified in our day.
