Updated 12/23/20

The Governor’s Office announced a revision to the current gathering restrictions in our state.  A modified version of the announcement is available below.

At our Tualatin Campus, we are able to have 160 people in our building and still comply with all state requirements.  Our other campuses also have plenty of space to practice social distancing and welcome everyone who would like to attend.

We ask that everyone wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance while at Horizon.  And we are so excited to continue meeting together to worship and encourage one another.  When you feel comfortable, we’d love to welcome you back to church at Horizon!

See you soon!

The following is a statement from the Governor’s Office that was distributed this past Friday, December 19, 2020:

I write to inform you of a legal change to the guidance for faith institutions, which the Governor authorized a few days ago. As you may be aware, a series of recent court decisions arising in other states have appeared to modify the legal analysis that some courts may apply to certain public health restrictions that are specific to faith institutions. In light of those decisions, the State has opted to modify the guidance for faith institutions so that, as a legal matter, the capacity limits for faith institutions are public health recommendations only, and not enforceable. Other requirements (e.g. masks and physical distancing as outlined in the guidance) remain mandatory. A copy of the updated guidance is available here.

Please note that the only reason for this legal change is the recent shift in the legal arena. The science, data, and our assessment of what is necessary to keep the community safe has not changed. Accordingly, our public health recommendations regarding capacity limits in faith institutions remain unchanged as well.

We appreciate your partnership and adaptability during this difficult time, and we hope that as leaders and partners in our community, you will continue to comply with the recommendations regarding capacity limits, as well as the other mitigation measures that are in place to keep us all safe.

Beginning on Sunday, November 8th, we are going to be moving inside into multiple venues to be able to worship together. We do ask that you wear your masks inside, wash your hands frequently, and watch your distance with others.

Service times will continue to be 9:30am & 11:00am.

Horizon Kids will be available beginning on November 8th for all ages. We are working hard to make sure your kids are kept safe in this season. Kids age 5 and above will be asked to wear masks in the building.

Make sure to check back on our social channels and website to get the most up-to-date info

We’re getting back together! Beginning on Sunday, September 27th, we are going to be moving to an updated Sunday schedule including new service times.

We will be moving our service times to 9:30am & 11:00am.

During the 9:30am and 11:00am service, we will be having indoor seating, outdoor seating, and a drive-in service. The drive-in service in the parking lot will have live worship and a live message all broadcast over FM radio.

More info will be coming. Make sure to check back on our social channels and website to get the most up-to-date info.

Dear Horizon Family,

We were encouraged by President Trump’s message to America’s governors to reopen churches immediately.

While this is good news overall, there are some aspects that are unclear regarding how and when reopening will take place.

For now, we are continuing with our plan to meet on Sunday, July 12, for our “See You Again” Sunday, either live in services or drive-in services on our campus’ parking lots.

We want to be a cooperative fellowship, working with local officials, and Assemblies of God state and national leaders, so will be seeking more information and guidance in the days ahead.

As you know this situation is very fluid, if we get a clear and reasonable opportunity to open sooner, we will evaluate that closely.

Dear Horizon Family,

This week we learned of a four week ban on large group gatherings of more than 25 people, including churches. Horizon will cooperate with the directives of our public leaders which means we will not be meeting for regular weekly services through mid-April.

Here are some of the things we will be doing at Horizon to minister and serve our church family during this time:

  1. Weekly Online Services – we will stream a service every Sunday at 9:45, 11:15am, 2, 4, and 6pm on the links below. Even though we’re separated by distance we can worship together through these weekly online service times. Messages only will be available regularly on our website.
    1. Website
    2. Facebook
    3. YouTube
  2. Connection Response – our staff will be working during this time and responding to questions, prayer requests, and needs we receive through the online Connection Card, our website, email and phone calls. Click here to access our Connection Card.
  3. Prayer – our staff and elders will be praying for you during this time for God’s peace, provision, and direction as you may have need.
  4. Kids and Youth – Click here for kids video experiences available on demand for preschool, elementary and preteens. You’ll also find conversation starters and activities that tie in to the experience, plus a lot of helpful resources for families stuck at home.  We will also be streaming Horizon Kids Live, Friday nights at 5pm. Horizon Kids Live will feature content for all kids’ age groups and some resources for parents. Also, Horizon Youth can find encouraging devotionals and content just for them on Facebook and on Instagram.
  5. Ministries and Meetings – some church functions will continue such as new Online Life Group options that we are developing and other operations in compliance with public directives.

We encourage you to remember we are all in this together, God is with us and for us, and there will be a resolution and a future to look forward to as we pray, believe, and stay united through this season!

You can stay connected, be blessed, and be a blessing by:

  1. Keeping in touch with us through the connection ideas & resources above.
  2. Stay connected thru Online Life Groups! Groups begin March 29, click here for more info.
