Full of Grace and Truth
I am excited about this New Year! There is much that the Lord has put in my heart to share in this time of new beginnings. The first is this new blog. I care about leaders and I believe in and love to encourage Kingdom builders. I will attempt to do just that with a short blog right here every week.
My heart is to be balanced! John 1:14 says:
The Word became a human and lived among us. We saw his glory — the glory that belongs to the only Son of the Father — and he was full of grace and truth.” (NCV)
This verse is talking about Jesus! If Jesus is full of grace and truth, that is what I want to be full of. A philosophy of ministry that leaves either of these out will come into trouble. I like to say it is like the two wings of an airplane. Which would you rather have? The answer is both, of course, as you will crash and burn with just one. So it is in life and ministry, we need the balance of grace and truth. We need to be like Jesus, who said to the woman caught in adultery, “Who condemns you now?” He then said to the same woman immediately after that, “Now go and leave your life of sin.” This is balance! Truth without grace is a club and grace without truth is a club as well, because the enemy will beat you down and hammer you with the effects of sin. The balance of grace and truth is beautiful and awesome. It is the essence of Christ. I hope to provide this perspective as the key component for this blog on an ongoing basis.
I would be privileged if you would allow me to have this small place in your life once a week.
Check out Horizon’s brand new website. Also we have begun a new ministry to leaders and pastors called the Horizon Alliance.
