Embrace the Mystery

God Invites Us to Embrace His Mystery!
One thing I love about God is his mystery. You know, the elements of his nature we can’t seem to define or explain using our current scientific measurements?
For instance, have you wondered where God came from? Or maybe how he has the power to create? Have you ever wondered why he allows humanity to make our own conscious choices? What about how he could be one and three people (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) all at the same time?
Boy oh boy, the questions and wonders are endless right?!
God obviously uses His Word in the Bible to help us understand a few of his mysteries, but did you know that he actually encourages us to embrace his mystery. As in, it’s okay to be his follower not knowing every answer or theological explanation of his existence or the world he created us into.
What a relief!
In a first letter to his sidekick Timothy, chapter 3, the New Testament pastor Paul  instructs Timothy to encourage top leaders to “hold to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.”
In other words, Yes, this faith is a mystery! So we can live with a clear conscience as we embrace God’s mystery and live according to what he has revealed so far.
Pastor Paul also Talks about a day when Jesus returns and when all things are made right comparing how things are now, and how things will be:

Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me completely.
1 Corinthians 13:12

There is a great hope for our future understanding of who God is and who we are. Until then, stay curious. Ask God lots of questions. Maybe even write down all your great questions for God. Who knows. Maybe one or three of them will be answered in this lifetime!
In closing…

We declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the time began.
1 Corinthians 2:7

God invites us to embrace his mystery!
