Dig Deep
Wisdom is finding out what you should do and doing it. This month we will be digging into what wisdom is. As adults we usually know what the wise choice is. We know that choosing a chicken salad instead of heading to Burger King and grabbing a burger, fries and a soda is the wise choice. Sometimes the wise choice isn’t always as easy to spot as that. Sometimes, we have to seek out wise counsel and pray over a choice, like which home to buy or what job to take. But we ultimately land trust that we have made the wise choice.
Our kids however, are just beginning to figure out what wise choices are and how to make them. This month we want to begin giving kids a solid foundation to stand on when they are making choices. Our goal is for kids to get perspective of wisdom that is more than right and wrong. We want kids to be able to make the wise choice when they face decisions. We also want kids to know the truth that they can trust God no matter what.
As kids search for wisdom throughout August, we’ll encourage them to memorize Proverbs 8:10-11,
“Choose my teaching instead of silver. Choose knowledge rather than fine gold. Wisdom is worth more than rubies. Nothing you want can compare with her.”
