Spiritual Growth: Your Kids Are Watching

When it comes to character and faith, your kids are watching you in a way they might not watch you in other pursuits. Because it’s so personal, you can’t do faith and character for your kids. By far, the greatest influence on a student’s spiritual development are their parents. What you model at home, not just what you say, but what you do, will shape your student’s view of God and faith more than any other single factor.
So, what are you modeling? Is your faith part of the rhythm of your life? Does your student see you live out your faith? Wrestle with your doubts? Do they see you clinging to Jesus through difficult times? Do they see you ask for forgiveness when you fail? You don’t have to be perfect, in fact, your student may learn more about God through how you respond to failure, than anything else. They’re watching, what are you showing them?
