Preach the Gospel, and Since it’s Necessary, Use Words
Stan Russell

A friend sent me this article today and I believe it is profound. It talks about the importance of preaching the Gospel in a day where many in America are talking about good deeds as the Gospel. The Gospel is the Good News about Jesus Christ and without words or understanding it cannot be received. Good works and example are fertilizer, but the seed that needs to be planted is Jesus!
Good deeds are, well…good, but they are not the Gospel. The Gospel is the forgiveness of sin that comes through the one and only Son of God who gave His life to pay a ransom for our sins on the cross.
If you don’t believe this, try watching a movie without the sound. See if it holds your interest and see if you can follow the plot without sound.

Romans 10:14  But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? (NLT)

Ed Stetzer does a great job explaining further in this article.
