Helping Those Who Are Unable to Help Themselves
In December, my wife, Karen, daughter, Candice, and I traveled to India to check out a ministry called You Can Free Us. It is an outreach built to rescue women from sex-trafficking. We actually went up into the brothels and gave Christmas gifts to those young women who are enslaved. The pain we felt in those moments makes me think of the passage of the Bible in Exodus 3:7b-8a where God speaks and says,
“I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them.”
At Horizon Community Church, we are dedicated to raising $50,000 from our Kingdom Builders missions fund this year to give to help rescue these women through the great ministry of YouCanFree.Us. Check out this video which has highlights from our trip to India.
